FAQs

Which grades do you teach?

Launchpad currently focuses on high school learners, particularly Grades 10 to 12. Some Discovery Lab activities, mentorship opportunities and enrichment programmes may also be suitable for younger learners who demonstrate curiosity and readiness. If you’re unsure whether a programme is appropriate, please get in touch.

Can learners join more than one programme?

Absolutely. Launchpad’s programmes are designed to complement one another. A learner might receive Mathematics support while participating in Discovery Lab, or combine mentorship with a research project. Together, these pathways create a personalised learning journey that evolves with the learner’s interests and goals.

Do you offer one-on-one tuition?

Yes. Individual tuition is available for learners who would benefit from personalised support. Depending on the programme, Launchpad also offers small-group sessions, workshops, and collaborative activities where learners can learn alongside peers who share similar interests.

How do I know which programme is suitable?

You don’t need to decide before contacting us. Every learner is different, and the best starting point depends on their interests, current level of understanding, and long-term goals. An introductory conversation allows us to learn more about the learner and recommend the pathway—or combination of programmes—that is likely to provide the greatest benefit.

Is Launchpad a tutoring centre?

Launchpad certainly provides academic support in Mathematics and Physical Sciences, but it is designed to be much more than a tutoring centre. Alongside academic excellence, learners have opportunities to explore emerging disciplines, undertake research projects, develop practical skills, and receive mentorship that prepares them for opportunities beyond the classroom.

Do you offer programmes online?

Yes, for selected programmes. At present, Launchpad offers one-to-one tuition and mentorship sessions online, providing learners with personalised academic support and guidance regardless of their location.

Our Research & Innovation Programme can also be delivered partly online through one-to-one supervision, planning sessions, and regular progress meetings. However, many projects benefit from periodic in-person collaboration, particularly when working with specialised equipment, practical investigations, or prototype development.

The Discovery Lab, by contrast, is designed primarily as a hands-on, collaborative experience. Many activities involve experimentation, demonstrations, and practical projects that are best experienced in person alongside other learners.

As Launchpad grows, we plan to introduce a hybrid Academic Excellence Programme, combining the flexibility of online learning with carefully designed in-person sessions where collaboration, practical work, and deeper exploration can take place. Our goal is to make Launchpad accessible to more learners while preserving the interactive experiences that make learning both engaging and meaningful.
